Choosing Your First Incense

If you are new to incense, start with sticks rather than rare woods. A sandalwood stick is warm, round and friendly; mugwort is greener and herbal; thuja (juniper cypress) is resinous and brisk.

Burn time matters more than beginners expect — around 45 minutes per stick means one stick covers an evening. Weight tells you how many sticks you are getting: our boxes are 10 g, roughly 20-30 sticks depending on thickness.

Once you know which aromatics you like, graduate to agarwood coils. They are subtler, more complex, and reward slow attention — that is the pleasure they are made for.
